Huawei Honor X3 getting certified by TENAA

Huawei Honor X3, the successor of Huawei Honor X2 was caught up in rumors from back in January and was expected to be unveiled on this CES. Unfortunately, no details or confirmations from the company were released. Now, the tablet in Honor series by Huawei, Honor X3 is just passing through the Chinese certification board TENAA, with some nice specs moulded with it.

Originally, we were expecting a phablet from Huawei sized at 6.2 inch 2K display, powered with Huawei’s in-house Kirin 950 SoC, with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space. Earlier leaks were suggested the Android 6.0 on-board also.

But, everything has tumbled down when  the TENAA certification details were out. According to TENAA, Huawei Honor X3 is a 7 inch sized tablet, with 1920 x 1200 px resolution. The Kirin SoC is replaced with Qualcomm’s SnapDragon 615 SoC under the hood. It is also packed with 2GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage capacity, which is below par than we expected from the earlier rumors and leaks. It sports a rear camera unit of 13MP mounted on top left corner, and having a front facing one of 5MP. It could be packed with a metal body.

For the additional security, Huawei has mounted a tiny fingerprint scanner, a common trend among smartphones this year, on the side of the tablet just below the physical power button, as like Sony does in their Xperia Z5. The device is juiced up with a huge battery of 4,320 mAh, which is good enough for the better needs of a tablet.

We cannot blame if anyone thinks these specs are deprecated among its opponents, because the Snapdragon 615 SoC is quite older and not suitable for upcoming devices. Huawei should have to use at least its successor version, SnapDragon 616 which has improved performance and solved issues faced by 615. The 2GB RAM and 16GB storage space of the Honor X3 are unsatisfactory factors and everyone are in need of a device with atleast 3GB RAM and 32GB Storage capacity.

Interestingly, some rumors suggests that this could be only one of the variant of the Honor X3 and there would be another powerful model with 7 inch 2K display, 4GB RAM and Kirin 950 SoC, also juiced with 5,000 mAh battery which can satisfy the needs of powerful users.
Launching date and price are not known yet and it could be apiced around 1999 CNY, nearly 309USD.
