Microsoft is working to add a secondary display on their devices

Microsoft is still working hard on to make their smartphones being best in the smartphone market as they lose their superiority of Windows devices due to the arrival of Android OS and other opponents. One of its result was the replacing of Lumia branding from their smartphones with Surface label, announced a couple of days ago.

Now the WMPowerUser reportedly says that Microsoft is working to adding a secondary display on the flipcover of their smartphones. Recently, some manufacturers like Yotaphone introduced the similar idea of secondary display, but it was an e-ink display docked on the rear panel. But Microsoft is planning to make it as a low power auxiliary display, not as a secondary one, which will be mounted in the flipcover.

According to the analysts, the second display of the device can be used for various purposes like :-
As a virtual keyboard. So we can utilize the either displays, one as a full keyboard and other for screen view.

It can be used for displaying Cortana voice assist results or 'Always-Listening' method.
While reading e-books, we could be able to see the both pages, so we can go through the predecessor or successor pages without changing the currently reading page.

Points mentioned above are only some of them. Microsoft research team is still discussing about the greater usability chances of adding an auxiliary display.
So forget the Surface device with an ordinary cover, think about a 'Display-Cover'.
